Manufactured or Modular

Manufactured Homes
Manufactured homes are built to conform to a national code commonly referred to as a "HUD Code" (U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development). The HUD Code regulates manufactured home design and construction, strength and durability, resistance to fire, and efficiency.
It also prescribes the standards for the heating, plumbing, air conditioning and electrical systems. Built in sections on a steel chassis with removable axles and in an environmentally controlled factory, these homes are transported to the home site where they are quickly assembled to give minimum exposure to the weather. Manufactured housing is typically less expensive than a modular or site built home.

Modular Homes
Modular homes are built to conform to all state, local or regional building codes at their destinations. Modular Homes are also built in sections or "modules" in an environmentally controlled factory. These modules are then transported on removable dollies to the homesite where they are quickly assembled to give minimal exposure to the elements. Modular homes are generally craned into position on their foundations. Modular housing is typically less expensive than similar site built homes.

Both the Modular and Manufactured homes give the homeowner an affordable, quality alternative to a site built home. With both of these being built in a factory and quickly assembled at the homesite, it is a faster route than new construction and allows for a faster move in.
